Three ways to get help

Pick the one your family needs today.

All three are free, and none of them ask you to prove you deserve help. If you need it, it's yours.

Family Barter System

Neighbors give away cribs, strollers, car seats, clothes, and school supplies. Browse by county, pick how far you can travel, and claim what you need. The board just launched, so if your county is quiet, you're early. Posting and sharing helps it grow.

How the Family Barter System works

Simpler than a "free stuff" group, and kinder too.

Social media giveaway groups are crowded and easy to miss. Ours is organized, current, and private.

  • Click your county on the map to see nearby listings
  • Choose which counties you're willing to drive to
  • Claim an item and arrange pickup through our messages
  • Posters confirm their items every week, so listings stay real

Do you qualify for more than you use?

Two minutes, no name, nothing saved.

Most families are eligible for programs they have never applied to. WIC reaches fewer than half the children who qualify, and one in five eligible workers never claims a tax credit worth thousands. Answer five things and see what is probably yours.

Raising a relative's child?

The child can get help on their own, no matter what you earn.

Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends raising a child often qualify for a monthly child-only payment, health coverage for the child, and school enrollment without a court order, and most never hear it. One page, by state and county, with the official source for every rule.

Just dealt with an office?

Two minutes that count what it cost you.

Offices count how many people they serve. Nobody counts the hours, trips, and stress it took the family. Our anonymous survey does, county by county, and the number goes to the offices and funders who can change it.

Already on a program?

Do not lose it at renewal.

Most families who lose SNAP or Medicaid lose it at the renewal date, not the application. Tell us your programs and dates and we will email you before each one with the papers to gather. Free, no account, no case numbers.

A note from us

Needing help doesn't say anything bad about you.

Most families hit a stretch where things are tight. That's exactly why this exists. No applications, no waiting lists, no one checking your story. Just neighbors who had something to give, and you, who needed it.

Doing okay right now?

Give what your family outgrew.

That crib in the garage or the coats your kids outgrew could be exactly what a nearby family is looking for this week.
